Fun Machine was made as a group project in my 2nd Semster at UL as part of the Mobile Applications Design module that was conducted by Brenda Romero.
Fun Machine is an app that was created for children who are 5 - 8 years old. The idea behind Fun Machine was to design an app that allowed children to stimulate their creativity by inspiring them to create tangible arts and crafts objects from daily household items that people usually have lying around.

Usability Testing, Pen and Paper, Adobe Photoshop, InVision, Adobe Premiere Pro
• A strong period of
research kicked off
our design phase.
• This project was
especially
challenging because
of the demographic
that we had targeted.
For user research, we
referred to the
experiences of one of
our group members
and our Professor,
both of whom are
parents.
• A low fidelity
prototype of the app
was made and the
Wizard of Oz
technique was
applied to conduct
user tests on it.
• Primarily, the app
was tested by users
not from the targeted
demographic.
However, we were
able to have it tested
by our group mate’s
daughter a few times.
• Results of the user
tests of the low
fidelity prototype
were analysed and a
high fidelity prototype
was then created.
• The screens were
made on Adobe
Photoshop and
Illustrator while they
were prototyped on
InVision.
• The high fidelity
prototype was user
tested once again.
