Photo Centre Redesign - Sem 1, UL

Photo Centre was created in my 1st Semester at UL where we were tasked with re-designing an existing interface that we thought could be improved.

Printing Kiosk that I had run into at a store. I followed the Iterative Design process and first researched the existing product to identify the pros and cons of it’s design.

Skills :

User Experience Research, Customer Survey, Wireframing, Rapid Prototyping,User Interface Design, Iterative Design Cycle

Tools :

Usability Testing, Pen and Paper, Adobe Photoshop, InVision, Adobe Premiere Pro

Step 1 - Research

• I first researched the existing product to identify the pros and cons of it’s design.
• I tried to establish the demographic and environment that the machine was going to be operated in.
• This project was especially interesting because it had a physical interface as well.

Step 2 - Low Fidelity Prototype

• On completion of the research phase, I made a low-fidelity prototype on paper. A prototype of the redesigned physical interface was also created.
• The prototype was then user tested using the Wizard of Oz technique and it’s results were then recorded.

Step 3 - High Fidelity Prototype

• The screens of the interface was made on Adobe Photoshop and the prototyping itself was done on InVision.
• The prototype was then user tested and the results of those tests were used to create a more streamlined product.
